AVFami Project Group Highlight
Why? The goal of the project group is to make vertical farming more sustainable, economically and ecologically.
How? By using the circular economy mindset, AVFami is researching the possible connections between different ways of producing food in closed environments. The output of 1 closed system could be the input of another, producing more with much food with less input, or like the AVFami team likes to state it: 1+1+1=10.
What? "AMI" stands for Aquaponics, Mushrooms and Insects. These food sources all have in common that they can be produced in closed environments. The AVFami team consists of 7 researchers who will present their first findings during the AVF Summit and GreenTech, June 2016 in Amsterdam.
