AVF Newsletter - February 2016

Hello <<First Name>>,

Individually we are all on our own journeys - we have our families, our friends, our businesses, our health, and our problems to consider. This newsletter, however, is about taking a moment to consider our collective journey to innovate and fortify humanity's food supplies.

This month we'd like to highlight:

Where does your passion grow from?

AVF Summit & GreenTech 2016

In mid-June 2016, Amsterdam will be the center of the vertical farming world. This is made possible by a collaboration between the Association for Vertical Farming (AVF) and GreenTech, one of the world's largest and internationally recognized horticulture exhibitions.

The subject of the 2016 AVF Summit, happening on Monday the 13th of June, is "vertical farming, circular economy and true sustainability" - inevitably a very interesting subject.

During the GreenTech 2016 exhibition, happening from June 14 to 16, the AVF will be hosting the first ever vertical farming pavilion. The AVF & GreenTech will bring vertical farming to a global audience.

Fresno Workshop Recap

Team "Farming for Good" took home the grand prize at the workshop hosted in Fresno California in early February. The team proposed building large vertical towers with aquaponics and grow-space, an amphitheater, and multifamily housing with rooftop greenhouses. All these practical community oriented buildings would be right across the street from where Fresno's new high speed rail station will be built.
