SCHOLARSHIPS NOW OPEN

SHPE Houston Scholarship(s)

Deadline April 15, 2017 [TOMORROW]

Scholarship Eligibility - Students must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) at a college or university in Texas in Fall of 2017. - All sections of Application must be completed in order to qualify.

SHPE National Scholarships

and close July 31, 2017 11:59 PM PST

Please note that you must submit a photo/video release form, a student profile form including a professional head-shot photo, updated resume, unofficial transcripts, and any other official documentation as required by the scholarship sponsor. Undergrad chapters only get 1 vote per chapter; professionals & grad students get 1 vote per member.

Tariq Tashtoush, Ph.D.

Regardless of his short young membership with the organization, Advisor Tashtoush has made a huge impact on his chapter and the life of the students. He wants to continue learning more about SHPE so that he may further assist the needs of his chapter. He is willing to learn Spanish so that he can strengthen his communication methods with his students.

Lauren M. Cuevas Meléndez

Lauren joined SHPE as a Jr. member in Region 4 and has proven to be the epitome of SHPE's mission and vision from staying involved with SHPE regardless of location. She's utilized SHPE's network in solidifying mentors and has an amazing SHPE familia she readily helps, advises, and assists any way she can. Lauren has been an invaluable leader and resource to our Region 5 familia in helping bridge communication & efforts to our Tennessee & Alabama subregion & Region 5 wishes her well on her future endeavours as a SHPE Professional.

Carlos joined SHPE as a Jr. member and has an unyielding passion for giving back. He is currently serving his 2nd year on the Region 5 Leadership Team as he served last year as a Vice RSR helping cultivate the student chapters, resources, and communication; now serving as the Student Jr. Rep, Carlos oversees the SHPE Jr. communication committee, resources, & procedures set in place to support our SHPEitos. Region 5 thanks you for your dedication & leadership!

Student Chapter of the Year
Texas A&M University is not only a well-known chapter in our region but has gone over & beyond to help fellow chapters, host/co-host events to build comradery throughout our region, & even partners with a multitude of professional chapters to support the entire SHPE pipeline. Their events throughout the year cover every one of SHPE pillars & their marketing initiatives helps raise awareness for SHPE's purpose. Thank you for leading by example, Aggies! 
Professional Chapter of the Year
SHPE Houston is no stranger to the award winning business but this year their initiatives and inclusive events far surpassed that of others. From traveling up to 4+ hrs to visit up to 5 different student chapters to consistently providing insight & sharing their bylaws to new upcoming chapter throughout the Nation, SHPE Houston takes mentorship and SHPE familia to another level! Thank you for all that you do, Houston Professionals! 
RLDC 2017 was a huge success! 
Thank you to our Texas Tech & LM Aero chapters for hosting our entire #FearlessFamilia the last weekend of March in Lubbock, TX.
