Hello, 2015! 

Happy New Year, everyone! We've got lots of exciting updates to share with you this month. But first...

Thank you for all of your support in 2014! From the We Need Diverse Books hashtag going viral on twitter, to our Indiegogo campaign, we couldn't have done it without you!

January Updates: 

New advisory board members: We're lucky to have an ever-expanding team, and would like to introduce our newest advisory board members, authors Linda Sue Park and Christopher Myers. We also welcome Meg Medina as the newest member of our executive team! 

Panels & Conferences: WNDB will be represented at several conferences and panels in 2015. In the next six months, you can find us at: 

• The School Library Journal booth at the ALA Midwinter Meeting, hopefully with prototypes of our educational kit in hand. A handful of our team members will also be at ALA on the Pop Top stage and elsewhere 
• A diversity panel and a We Need Diverse Books consultation station at the American Booksellers Association's Winter Institute (February). 
• An event in Frederick, MD with the Curious Iguana (May).
• A panel at the RT Booklover's Convention (May).
• Two panels at BookCon (May): one focusing on #WeNeedDiverseBooks and another on fiction and fantasy.
• ALA Annual panel with Gene Luen Yang, Cynthia Leitich Smith, Stephanie Kuehn, Cindy Pon, Aisha Saeed and Ellen Oh.
