Preparations underway for General Council 44
By Barb Lough
We’re excited that General Council 44 is coming to Chinook Winds Region and will be meeting in Calgary, July 21 to 25 in 2021, at the Telus Convention Centre.  I know that sounds like a long time into the future, but we are already at work planning the nuts and bolts of organizing a meeting to which we will welcome about 500 people!
We’d love for you to be involved too.  We need many volunteers in the areas of hospitality, transportation, welcoming, stewards, and care of participants, to name a few.  Information will be coming to you as we go forward with this planning task to help you decide where your giftedness may lie with respect to this meeting.  We are working on a form to help us and you with that and it will be posted in this space soon.
We’ll bring you regular updates on our progress, and in the meantime, we ask for your prayer and support.  If you already have some idea about where you’d like to be involved, I’d love to hear from you.  This is a massive task, but I have absolute faith in the people of Chinook Winds to step up to it!

Retirees Luncheon in Photos

In spite of yet another winter storm on October 8, the Retired Ministers and Partners luncheon carried on at the Chinook Winds Regional Office at Okotoks United Church. About 38 had hoped to come, 20 were still able to join with colleagues, Regional Staff and members of the Ministry Support Working Group for conversation, food and a tour of the Regional Office. Thank you to the Chief Organizers Wilma Clark and Bob Mutlow. Another luncheon for retirees will take place in the spring. May the weather cooperate!  More Photos
