The National Affirming/PIE Day was founded to celebrate and broaden inclusion for LGBTQ2SIA+ folks?! It happens every March 14, and and churches are encouraged to plan an event or service, big or small.
Why PIE? It stands for: Public, Intentional, and Explicit - which is what our affirming and inclusion should look and feel like!
Affirming Connections and Affirm United/S'Affirmer Ensemble have partnered to bring you tools and ideas to put on your own PIE event.
On the PieDay.ca website, you can submit your event, check out the official calendar, get FREE videos, worship services, and marketing materials, and more!

Guidelines for Churches during Flu Season

With flu season upon us and reports of the COVID-19 virus in the news, congregations may be raising questions of how to be prepared. The United Church of Canada has prepared Advisory Sheets on its website that outline good practices. While they were prepared in 2006 and 2009 and require updating for the new structure, the documents remain relevant and helpful.
Specific to congregations are the documents: Are you Ready for a Health Emergency; Breaking the Chain: Guidelines for Reducing the Spread of Infection and Being Faithful during Cold and Flu Season. The latter document offers helpful suggestions for communion and passing the peace.
