Aidenvironment in IOI Settlement – RSPO to Launch Improved Complaint Procedure
On 1 December 2016, Aidenvironment and palm oil company IOI issued their final Joint Statement declaring the Ketapang complaint case closed to the satisfaction of both parties. “We are relieved to close the case,” says Eric Wakker, co-founder of our Asia office. “Now we can explore working with IOI as a partner in the transformation of the palm oil industry.”

Final Evaluation of CoCoon: insights in conflict transformation
Aidenvironment and the University of Reading (UK) conducted the final evaluation of the Conflict & Cooperation over Natural Resources in Developing Countries program (CoCooN). CoCooN is a knowledge, research, and innovation program for evidence-based policy development, interventions, and practices in the field of conflict and cooperation on natural resources. The evaluation consisted of desk studies, interviews and visits to five end-of-project meetings in different countries.

Training Workshop on Community-based Integrated Water Resources Management and Rainwater Harvesting, Huye, Rwanda
On 23–28 October 2016, RAIN (a brand of Aidenvironment) facilitated a training workshop on Community-based Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and Rainwater Harvesting for Trócaire program officers and partners from eight African countries: Rwanda, DRC, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Uganda. Trócaire is an Irish charity and the overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland.
