UNITED STATES CENSUS
MARCH 12, 2020

The 2020 Census will begin on March 12. This is a tool used to collect data on the characteristics of individuals, households, and housing units throughout the country. Census data helps determine states' representation in Congress and federal funding, among many other things. Experts estimate each household that does not complete the Census survey costs our community about $1,675 in local federal fnder per person, per year for 10 years.

We are urging Oklahoma residents to complete the mailed post card they will receive in March with nine questions about their household. Residents can also respond online, by phone or in person at any Metropolitan Library System location.

Want to learn more about the census? Visit okc.gov/residents/2020-u-s-census.
