Get Your Nutrition Back on Track.
Now that the dog days of summer are behind us and the holiday season is just around the corner, there's no better time to get your nutrition in check!
Save the Date for the next "Nutrition Challenge" at CrossFit MVA, beginning Monday, October 3, ending Friday, November 4.
The Format: Eat the right amount of "Real Food."
In our past Nutritional Challenges, we all experienced the positive benefits of eating quality foods and what it does for performance, recovery, and physique.
We're going to continue this pattern of eating "Real Food" (that means, no "junk food") throughout the 5-week challenge in October.
We're taking it one step further by tailoring it to your individual needs and goals by helping you understand how much you should be eating to meet those goals.
If you have goals to increase strength, performance, and/or get leaner, there is a way to work towards this by tracking your macronutrient intake, particularly carbohydrates, protein, and fat.
Why Track? The Benefits
As part of the October challenge, we'll help YOU figure this out so that by the end of the challenge, you have an understanding of how to continue on doing this respective to your goals. Why Track? Here are the benefits:
- Flexibility to eat what you want (within reason);
- You don't have to give up alcohol;
- Increased strength;
- Improved recovery during and between workouts
- Get leaner, or gain mass (Individual numbers are specific to those goals)
- Greater awareness of nutritional value of the foods you eat.
It's just like a budget: just as you balance your finances, might you also track how you fuel your body?
The only Restriction is your Mindset.
This October challenge is not about banning specific foods or food groups, rather encouraging you to fuel your body with "real foods" and not fill it with junk foods. (Would you want to put the least quality motor oil in your car, expecting to keep up its good maintenance?)
If you have a positive mindset on this, of wanting to clean up your nutrition, get set on the right path for this fall, and better understand how much you should be eating, you will succeed!
