FEATURED STORY FROM THE SLOPES 

 
The Vancouver Island Society for Adaptive Snowsports hosted The Winter Snowsports Festival’ at Mt Washington on Jan 3-7 2016 and it was a great success! 29 students from across all snowsports disciplines; Snowboard, Alpine ski, Nordic ski and Sitski.  The students had 4 incredible days on snow, with their lift tickets, lessons, rentals and 2 banquets all provided free of charge.

Short Range
January 27-29 - BOB Camp & Races in Whistler - 1 day of race training with  current and former BCPAST athletes and the Provincial Head Coach. Building Our Best (BOB) events are open to any skier with a disability that can comfortably ski a blue run independently.

January 31- February 5 - The Vancouver Island Society for Adaptive Snowsports (VISAS) will host the annual Canadian Forces Veterans Winter Ski Week from Jan 31 to Feb 5 2016.  In conjunction with Soldier On, VISAS will host up to 40 ill and injured military veterans from across Canada to come and participate in winter snowsports. Applications for this event are now closed.  

Long Range
February 20 - Carter Classic Fundraiser - Silver Star Adaptive Snowsports (SSASS) annual fundraiser.
February 21 - Herb Bradley Challenge - VISAS annual fundraiser at Mt. Washington.
February 25-28 BOB Camp & Races at Silver Star Mountain Resort
