Resourcing Brisbane Oratory Music

Sacred Music is essential to the Liturgy and, at the Brisbane Oratory in Formation, we are striving for excellence in our liturgical music.  Parishioners and visitors often comment about the beauty of the music at our sung Masses.

At the present time we have the mixed Choir of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, the Schola of Saint Philip Neri, and the Saint Benedict’s Children’s Choir.  The co-ordination of the liturgical music in our parish obviously takes considerable time and effort.

The Oratory community would like to be in a position to be able to offer some remuneration to our Director of Music.  At the moment, we can only do this with the support of benefactors and sponsors.  If you have a love of the Church’s musical tradition, and would like to help the music programme at the Oratory to grow and flourish, we invite you to make a pledge towards the resourcing of Brisbane Oratory Music.  At this stage we are looking for sponsors to cover a total of approximately $400 per week.  If we could cover the costs for 2017 this would be an excellent start.

For more information, please contact Father Adrian Sharp on 0427 109 054 or at sharpa@bne.catholic.net.au.
