Thank you helping make minima's 2015 milestones a reality
It’s been an incredible year for minima! Our lights were exclusively specced by Itis Design for the fast-growing RocoMamas “smashburger” chain (check out its zany colours in a store coming to you soon); we supplied Exclusive Books in Canal Walk, Rosebank and Hyde Park, custom-made XL lights for the new extensions to the Green Acres Shopping Centre in PE and the new Sun Valley Mall in Cape Town, and our minima 450 stool was selected as one of the 100 beautiful objects for 100% Design….just to mention a few.
minima also went on the road exhibiting at several trade shows across the country! We were part of:
Design Indaba in Cape Town in February
A CCDI-curated pavilion at Inspire in JHB in June;
A CBI-curated Sphere Exhibition at 100% Design in JHB in August;
A CBI pavilion at SARCDA in JHB August
the Design Project at Homemakers Expo in Cape Town in August.
We also had to move. With the amazing influx of orders, not to mention the increased size and styles of our lights, we outgrew our little Westlake workshop in no time. So in September we moved our minima workshop and our architecture studio and took-up new premises at Capricorn Park in Muizenberg. It’s our new minima HQ and home to the design and development of our next lighting & furniture range due for release early 2016 #watchthispace.
We couldn’t have done any of this without all our loyal stockists, lighting suppliers, lighting designers, architects and interior designers who have given us amazing support throughout the year, thank you.
A sincere thanks must also be given to the team from CBI, Netherlands, for the ongoing coaching, guidance and trade show assistance. Thanks also to H2P Project Management for making a trip to Sweden a reality for minima; I’ll be heading to Tibro in February to visit the heart of the country’s furniture manufactory industry to look, learn and exchange ideas, which will no doubt be incredibly inspiring.
But first a holiday is needed for all of us to rest and recharge. From myself and the extended minima team we wish you all the joy of the season and a happy New Year. Follow us on Facebook or Twitter to find out where we’ll be exhibiting in 2016 as well as launch dates for the new range.
