CCO Soft Tissue Sarcoma Diagnosis Pathway Map

Latest version is now available

Cancer Care Ontario would like to share their Soft Tissue Sarcoma Diagnosis Pathway with General Surgeons for the standardized diagnosis of suspected cases of adult soft tissue sarcoma in Ontario.  The Pathway was developed collaboratively by a Working Group of regional and clinical representatives, through an evidence-based approach facilitated by Cancer Care Ontario and the Sarcoma Services Steering Committee.  The purpose of the Pathway is to provide guidance to healthcare providers on referring suspected cases of soft tissue sarcoma across Ontario.  The Pathway provides an overview of the presentation and clinical work-up of cancer diagnosis that an individual in the Ontario cancer system may receive.  Use of this Pathway will ensure patients with suspected cases have equitable access to high quality care provided by a multidisciplinary sarcoma team, tailored to their individual needs.  CCO and the Committee welcome your feedback.  For more details, please refer to the following links:

Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP)

Billing Sans OHIP Card

In an email from the Ontario Medical Association last month, attention was drawn to the Syrian Refugee effort and how it may involve Ontario physicians.  The federal gov't implemented temporary measures for the IFHP back in 2014, in order to fund the healthcare for certain patients without OHIP identification.  If you find yourself in this situation (be it a refugee or a summer tourist requiring your surgical or emergency care), please click here for more details on how to bill:
