Cougar Challenge

What an amazing day we had for the Cougar Challenge this past Friday!  Thank you to everyone who volunteered, cheered on the kids, sponsored the event, pledged, or encouraged!  We also got a special visit from the Tampa Bay Rays' mascot, Raymond, and our very own Cimino Cougar!  The kids--and the adults--had a great time!
So now that the walk is over, it's time to get in those pledge collections!  Please make sure you have collected all monies for your pledges before turning in your collection envelope.  Checks should be made payable to "Cimino PTA".  Donations can also be paid by credit card through PayPal by going through the link on our website. (Additional instructions are on the website.)  It's not too late to add additional pledges but all monies are due by Oct. 23rd!  Also, if a donor's workplace has a company match program, it will double the contribution!  Check here for a list of known companies who offer this.

Please make sure to complete the pledge form fully (including the student's name and teacher) and send it in with your pledge collections. If you should need additional pledge sheets, they are in the front office.  Prize week will be November 2nd - 6th, with Coach Macko’s VIP PARTY on Friday, November 13th.
If you took pictures you'd like to share with the yearbook committee, you can upload them to using the school code "ciminoyearbook" or email them to

If you have any questions about the Cougar Challenge, please feel free to contact our Cougar Challenge Coordinator Extraordinaire, Leslie Fidler, at

Did you miss your chance to register for Drama Kids in September?  Don't worry!  It's not too late!  We had so many kids enroll that we opened a second class to accommodate.  We now offer TWO classes at Cimino on Tuesdays.  One is for grades K-2 and the other is for grades 3-5.

Drama Kids has been helping children across the U.S. to gain confidence and communication skills since 1999 and we are thrilled to be invited to Cimino Elementary this year! Our first 20 weeks will be spent learning important skills through actor’s workshop style classes and our final 12 weeks will be spent rehearsing for our spring play that we will perform for families in May. We thrive on giving children the best gift ever: the gift of CONFIDENCE!

Business Advertising

Inside our yearbook, we have set aside special pages for advertising. The yearbook is an excellent way for you to advertise your business with our families and show them you support the school at the same time. These advertisements also help us keep the cost of the yearbooks down for our students. As a thank you to any business that places an ad, we will print a special “thank you” in our school newsletter and also list your sponsorship on our PTA website.  For more information and pricing click here.

Please contact our
Yearbook Chair with any questions you may have.  Thank you!

It's Box Tops Time

Send in those box tops.  Our next submission will be October 23rd.  Thank you!

Santa Shop

Christmas is coming! Christmas is coming!
And that means so is the Wonderland Gift Shoppe! It may seem early, but it will be here before we know it! This year’s shop will run from December 9th-14th. Set up will be December 8th.  I am in need of a few elves to help in setting up, decorating, and running the shop.
If you would like to help in the planning, please send me an email (call or text) with your contact information.
For my special elves who would like to help the kids shop, there will be a sign up toward the end of October.
ALL children will be allowed to shop. I know some budgets are tight this time of year, but we want everyone to have the joy of shopping and giving. If your child needs some assistance, please contact me or your teacher so we can make sure that everyone who wants to shop gets to.
More information about the shop will be coming home in the following weeks!
