Technology events for June 2021
Not just June, but a chance to start returning, safely, to some in-person tech events!
Having reached my "fully vaccinated" milestone date and having attended an outdoor gathering of Meet the Geeks a couple of weeks ago, I'm cautiously optimistic about the summer ahead.
This month's in-person events include:
- Hendersonville Cider Coders - Trivia Night
- VR Game Design Meetup Group
- Silicon Dojo - DNS for Cybersecurity
- Unity Game Programmers
- CryptoCurrency Asheville
- Asheville Digital Nomads
- Asheville Coders League
SouthEast LinuxFest (SELF) has been in the works for a while, and will remain virtual for this year, but they've already set the date and location for 2022 to be held in-person. See below for all the details on this year's event, taking place June 11-13.
AVL Digital Nomads
This new group meets for the first time this month. This is not the first digital nomads group in town — it is the third one I've seen since starting this newsletter, presumably because the organizers keep moving on in their nomadic journeys. This group will hold their inaugural gathering at the Wedge at Foundation on the evening of the 18th. See below for details.
Next month's premiere event will be Drupal Camp Asheville, celebrating the event's 10th Anniversary. Tickets to this online event are a mere $10 — get yours today!
I look forward to seeing you, in person and online, when and where you're comfortable gathering. And I don't want to take a moment of it for granted!
