The Willamette Water Supply Program is refining its proposed pipeline route from Wilsonville to Hillsboro and the Tualatin Valley Water District service area. Here is the link to the most current project map and schedule.
Program staff recently sent postcards to property owners near the pipeline route. The postcards provided notification that we may need access to conduct environmental, cultural and geotechnical surveys this spring to facilitate on-going planning and design efforts. Outreach staff will soon contact some of these property owners along the route to ask for permission to enter their property. These surveys can only be completed during certain times of year, particularly when it comes to assessing habitat and environmental resources.
The purpose of the survey work is to better understand the conditions along the proposed pipeline route. Signing a right-of-entry agreement gives Program staff or contractors permission to enter private property for survey purposes only.
The Program’s Real Estate and Communications Teams will follow up with in-person visits with property owners along the pipeline route, likely beginning the week of April 11. If you have questions about the Willamette Water Supply Program right-of-entry effort, please contact Marlys Mock at 503-941-4570.
Marlys and David and the rest of the WWSP Communications Team coordinate and implement the Program's outreach activities.
Program Update Highlights
Preliminary Design – Refinement of the pipeline route is moving forward. Engineers are evaluating each section of the proposed route to make sure that the best possible route is chosen, balancing all the various factors and considerations that must be taken into account for major infrastructure programs such as the Willamette Water Supply System. The Program will soon select an engineering firm to conduct additional studies and pipeline design in the Sherwood/Tualatin area.
Willamette River Water Treatment Plant Master Plan – The Willamette Water Supply Program Team is assessing plant design options with technical staff and with partner agencies. The Master Plan will be completed by the end of 2016.
124th Avenue – Road construction begins spring 2016 on this exciting Washington County / WWSP partnership project that will be complete in 2018. Construction of the pipeline will begin this summer.
Kinsman Road – This cost-saving opportunity project with the City of Wilsonville and the Oregon Department of Transportation is moving forward. Design and permitting is near completion. Construction is anticipated to begin this summer and conclude in 2017.
