Building a pipeline and positive long-term relationships
The Willamette Water Supply Program is committed to increasing public understanding of the Program and its goals. In support of that commitment, we are working to gain the cooperation of property owners to complete wetland, geotechnical and other environmental studies along the proposed pipeline route. We are contacting owners by phone and visiting them, when possible, to introduce ourselves and to talk about the Water Supply Program and the needed technical studies.
This effort is off to a great start! Over the last few months we have reached out to hundreds of property owners along the proposed pipeline route. The resulting conversations are going very well and many property owners have granted permission for our technical staff to conduct their evaluations.
The Program staff will interact with many property owners over the life of the project—from design through construction. The goal of our committed hands-on approach is to build long-lasting, positive relationships. We plan to follow up with property owners to let them know when the survey crew will be at their property. In many cases we will also accompany surveyors to make sure everything goes well and our commitments are upheld.
Surveyors will be visiting sites with members of the Communications Team in June.
