A musical summer coming up!

Dear all,

I'm very happy to share with you more excited events coming up. Life in New York has been really good to me, opening up to more new collaborations and opportunities to learn.
This coming Wednesday, I will be part of a special show "WOVEN" lead by the wonderful Carnatic violinist and theater artist Anjna Swaminathan, with an amazing linup of improvisers, as part as the weekly Brooklyn Raga Massive Series at the Owl Music Parlor in Brooklyn.

Wednesday July 5, 2017 at 8pm

Violinist and theatre artist Anjna Swaminathan's debut ensemble project, WOVEN, brings together original music and poetry to meditate on ideas of death, memory and loss in Hindu vedantic philosophy. The ensemble features stellar string instrumentalists of various musical idioms ranging from jazz and creative music to klezmer, whose sounds are woven into a hybrid soundscape. Introspective, emotive and expansive, the score deconstructs the microtonal, rhythmic and improvisational vocabulary of Indian classical music and acts as a response to the cultural trauma, disillusionment, and wonder expressed in the poetry.

Catch the fourth episode of my radio show "Zing!" about Yiddish songs, on Radio Yiddish Pour Tous.

This episode explores the world of Yiddish children's songs, in honor of the beautiful YIVO exhibit "Yidishe Kinder" (on display until September), for which I prepared a selection of recordings from the Sound Archive with Lorin Sklamberg.
I'm thrilled to coordinate again the children's program at the wonderful week-long retreat
"Trip to Yiddishland" organized by the Workmen's Circle (Aug 14-21)!
Yerushe is preparing a European tour in November 2017. More to be announced soon!
If you would like to see us perform in your town or near you, it's still time to reach out to us!
And you can still order our album from our label, the Institut Européen des Musiques Juives.
