Message From Your President:
First Day
My kids recently started back to school with their first-day of online classes. Despite being at home in familiar surroundings, they felt nervous about new teachers and learning online. I can relate. The “first-day” experience can cause discomfort, uncertainty, and stress. Do you remember your first day in a college auditorium, first day as a dietetic intern, first day at a new job, or first face-to-face counseling session with a patient? No matter the barriers it is vital that we all continue to create more “First Days” in our lives because it means we are willing to grow, better ourselves, and take on new challenges. This month I’m happy to announce that we will be offering scholarships to help NvAND attend the first virtual FNCE® 2020. We are also announcing our first upcoming state-wide meeting for the year in October. Don’t forget to check out the member spotlight this month, and thank you to all NvAND members for Making A Difference every day!

Dillon Martin, RDN
NvAND President 2020-2021
