Books For Winter Reading or Gift Giving!

Our favorite reads from 2018

A wonderful children's book, but might be great for a few adults as well. Beautifully illustrated and demystifies a lot of farm life, like the difference between a cow and a steer!
"Sarah Smarsh was borth a fifth-generation Kansas wheat farmer on her paternal side, and the product of generations of teen mothers on her maternal side". This book will grab you from the front page. Sarah is one of our favorite writers and deserves all the awards that are surely coming her way.
"In 1920, 14% of all land-owning US Farmers were black. Today, less than 2% of farms are controlled by black people, a loss of over 14 million acres and the result of discrimination and dispossession."
Friend of the FFP, Andrea is a farmer, cook, and vivid storyteller. Lots of seasonal inspiration found here!
Also a friend of the FFP, Lily would be a farmer in another life. But in this one she is an inspiration. I know you'll enjoy her voice and her recipes for body and mind.
