Mission Minute

Happy New Year!

This week’s Mission Minute comes from Athletic Director, Chris George '97:

On Friday evening our talented girls’ basketball team hosted the highly rated Jesuit Crusaders in the Brick Oven. The same night we honored Edward Kendrick and Paul Dreisbach, two beloved La Salle educators and coaches, with the Carol Feltz Bluhm '80 award. Carol was a gifted athlete and very well-rounded student in the graduating class of 1980 who left quite a legacy. She appreciated the hard work and support of her coaches who also taught at La Salle. To recognize current educators who go above and beyond what is required of them in the classroom, the family created an endowed fund and the award. Each year Carol’s family and friends attend a game to celebrate her life and help us honor deserving coaches. Edward and Paul model Lasallian values and the popularity and success of our girls’ tennis and swimming programs can be attributed to their involvement and positive influence these last few years. They model integrity, foster an environment of inclusion and maintain high standards for their student athletes. The same values modeled by Carol’s coaches 40 years ago are alive in Edward and Paul. Congratulations to both and a heartfelt thank you to the Feltz and Bluhm families for sharing in this joyous occasion with us and keeping Carol’s legacy alive.
