Meet Nancy Adero, Uganda Chapter Member

I previously mentioned how the Global NCD Alliance Forum in Sharjah was a special experience for Young Professionals Chronic Disease Network because of the advocacy agenda presented Our Views, Our Voices. This agenda reflects the voices of almost 2,000 patients worldwide living with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) both through surveys and in-person, on the ground, conversations sharing thoughts about what it means to be a patient living with a non-communicable disease.

Nancy comes from our Uganda chapter and coordinated many of these conversations with patients that were included in the report. For her, it was a matter of pride to see her work presented in a global forum. As a team, we couldn't be more proud of her leadership in these efforts. You can hear more of her thoughts by clicking her photo above.

The agenda advocacy highlights four key areas for action: Human Rights and Social Justice, Prevention, Treatment, Care, and Support, Meaningful Involvement to step up in 2018. After the New Year, our efforts with young leaders across the globe will continue to develop capacity across these four key areas, not just for patients living with NCDs, but all those frustrated by how healthcare systems are failing to deliver what is needed.

Our goal is to raise $20,000 before the end of 2017, and we are over halfway there. We need your help to train more leaders like Nancy to join us in our mission to invest in the next generation in 2018. Can you help us by donating below?

With great thanks, we would like to acknowledge our partner NCD Alliance, as well as the diligent efforts by Katie Dain and her outstanding team who were responsible for this opportunity.
