Toronto Community Housing's 2015 Annual Report is now available

Our 2015 Annual Report, In every neighbourhood, gives readers a sense of who we are, what we do, how we are delivering on our priorities and the challenges we face. In every neighbourhood highlights that you can find our homes in almost every neighbourhood in the city, and explains why our $9 billion of public asset is an integral part of Toronto.
For the first time, our annual report has been primarily designed as an accessible web document. Our shift toward a digital Annual Report has allowed us to reduce costs and provide users the opportunity to have a more interactive experience.
Visit our website to read or download a copy of the 2015 Annual Report or e-mail if you would like us to send you a printed copy (please include your mailing address in your e-mail).

Building brighter futures for 45 award recipients

Toronto Community Housing and Scadding Court Community Centre are helping to build brighter futures for high-school graduates embarking on postsecondary education. This year, 45 youth were awarded the Investing in Our Diversity Scholarship for having excelled in their academic achievement and outstanding leadership in their communities. The recipients were honoured at the program gala on May 26. Each recipient will receive up to $4,000 to help fund their postsecondary education, including tuition, training and other related costs.
We would like to thank all the partners and sponsors who helped make dreams come true, especially the two lead sponsors- Scotiabank and Tridel.

Transforming 257 Dundas into a dedicated shelter for LGBTQ youth

Our new partnership with Egale Canada will transform our property at 257 Dundas St. E. into the Egale Centre, a home for LGBTQ youth. The Egale Centre will be the first of its kind in Canada. It will combine counselling services and emergency and transitional housing for homeless LGBTQ youth.
Similar to our partnership with Covenant House, the Egale Centre will be another example in how we are reducing costs to improve our assets and allowing subject-matter experts to operate our properties to help provide safe and stable homes for people living there. The project was officially unveiled on May 31.
The development of the Egale Centre is a partnership between Toronto Community Housing, Egale Canada, the City of Toronto and private donors. Doors are anticipated to open in 2017.
