Join us on this weekend for a very special Canada 150 event: Children Draw Canada!

When: August 6th, 10AM – 2PM
Where: Municipal Building (3rd St SE, between 7th and 8th Ave SE)

With the help of your kids, we will transform the Municipal Building’s construction hoarding into a colorful Canadian mural – full of all kinds of Canadian things! Your kids don’t know how to paint very well? No problem! We’ll have several professional artists on site to help them out.

What’s more? This event will be filmed as the backdrop to a Canada 150 video, showcased on the CHA website and shown in classrooms this year. Not to mention, lunch and refreshments will be provided… AND we’ll have a face painter on site for your kids to enjoy!

If you’re interested in having your kid(s) participate, contact Mansi Calapatti at mansi@calgaryheritageauthority.com. We look forward to seeing you there!

Century Homes Calgary would like to remind all of their members to please fly your Century Home signs and banners during Historic Calgary Week!

Historic Calgary Week 2017

Historic Calgary Week kicked off on Friday! Lots of exciting tours and events are happening this week!

Time to plan your participation in Historic Calgary Week 2017. Join us as we celebrate 150 years of confederation and bring our rich history to life. Chinook Country Historical Society presents 70 walks, talks, family events, museum and community visits. Check out the Week At A Glance that lists the titles of all events to plan your participation in our 11-day history festival. View the full brochure for all the details about Historic Calgary Week 2017.

All events are open to the public and are free of charge, with one exception. Some events require pre-registration due to limited space. Details for registration will be noted in the full brochure.

This year, our History Hunt is back and will feature questions about school names and street names. A new, giant crossword puzzle will again highlight our history and will be published in the Calgary Herald on Friday, July 28, 2017. Both the History Hunt and the Crossword Puzzle can be downloaded from our website on that date.
