Meet the new Drinks Night Coordinator: Howard Fairbank
I am delighted to introduce to you Howard Fairbank who has kindly stepped forward to coordinate the drinks night at Rhythm and Brown every second Wednesday of the month. Horward will be there to welcome people as they arrive and put the Nelson Newcomers Network sign on the table. As there has been no coordinator for some time, the sign has not always been on the table, making it difficult for newcomers to find each other. Apologies for that. Thanks to Howard for stepping into this role. Here is a little more info about him ...

Howard Fairbank is South African / Australian.  A successful  businessman, and in 2004, turned a global adventurer. He sold all his material possessions, bought a yacht, put his bicycle, sea kayak and trekking shoes on board, and went to explore. To explore himself, society, nature and the planet, and the basis for another way of life, outside the capitalist system.  He has sailed, cycled, trekked all over the planet, mostly solo. This journey has seen him transform from a ruthless capitalist to a pantheist, who believes that 'Without Nature we are Nothing'.   For the past 11 years, Howard hasn't lived 'anywhere', but after finding the wonders of Nelson and Tasman, that may change!  In April he sailed his yacht into Golden Bay, and has decided to make Nelson his base for working on a project which involves trying to share his life transformation, in a way that inspires society.
