Did you know that classical (or baroque) music may help to fight depression and that Vivaldi has been shown in some tests to enhance brain function?
So if you suffer from SADor Midwinter blues:
Do we have a deal for you?
Not one, not two but three midwinter Vivaldi concerts
A day steeped in tradition in many cultures, February 2nd is the midpoint between the solstice and the equinox and is the true middle of winter, a turning point of the year. This concert will include two concertos from Vivaldi’s much loved Four Seasons (can you guess which?)
Vivaldi's version of the Stabat Mater is one of the best known and will be performed here by Suzanne Fatta, celebrated Buffalo contralto. The second concert in this series will also feature our young virtuoso performers, graduates of the Music Niagara Performance Academy.
This concert and lecture-recital with Suzanne Fatta, will explain and demonstrate how Vivaldi wrote for a full choir while the La Pieta chorus included only women.
And don't forget, we have tickets on sale now for The Choir of Trinity College Cambridge July 15th and 17th 2017 St. Mark's Anglican Church
