IGRAC at IAH Congress

IAH International Congress will be held in Marrakech, Morocco

From 15 to 19 September 2014, the IAH International Congress will be held in Marrakech, Morocco. The main theme of this 41st edition of the congress will be 'Groundwater: Challenges and Strategies'. Neno Kukuric and Laura del Val Alonso will lead several sessions during this events. More information about these sessions and a link to the full programme are now available on our website..

Advancing Groundwater Monitoring in China

On 17-19 March 2014, 46 groundwater experts came together in Beijing, China, for  the workshop 'Advancing Groundwater Monitoring in China'. The workshop was organised in the framework of the Global Groundwater Monitoring Network (GGMN) programme and in close cooperation with Geological Survey of China.

TWAP Regional Workshop in Dakar

From 22-24 July, a Regional Workshop for Western and Central Africa was organised in Dakar, Senegal. This was the fourth regional meeting for the Groundwater component of the Transboundary Waters Assessment Programme (TWAP).

Stakeholders DIKTAS project brought together at conference

The International Conference and Field Seminar “Karst Without Boundaries” brought together 155 international karst scientists, engineers and DIKTAS stakeholders in the heart of the Dinaric Karst from 11 to 15 June 2014. The main conference event took place in Trebinje (Bosnia & Herzegovina) with a mid-conference field seminar in Dubrovnik (Croatia) and a post-conference excursion in Boka Kotorska Bay (Montenegro).

Ecohydrology Workshop and Steering Committee Meeting in Paris

On 20-21 May 2014, an ecohydrology workshop and steering committee meeting was organised, which served as a start-up of the eighth phase of the UNESCO International Hydrological Programme (IHP). During this workshop held in Paris, Nienke Ansems (Researcher at IGRAC) presented on "Ecosystem-based adaptation in groundwater management".

Meet the team: Nienke Ansems

In April 2013, Nienke Ansems joined the IGRAC team as Reseacher. Ansems, who holds a MSc degree in Hydrology, is Project Leader of the Global Groundwater Monitoring Network (GGMN), a network that facilitates periodic assessments of changes in groundwater quantity and quality.
