COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS CONFERENCE

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2020
8 am - 4 pm
Minneapolis Convention Center
1301 2nd Ave S

The Community Connections Conference is an annual event that fosters connections between the residents of Minneapolis, community groups, neighborhoods and local government. In 2019, 885 people participated.

By using the theme "We count," we are saying that all communities are welcome and valued in Minneapolis and calling on communities to get involved in decision-making in 2020. Residents can get involved by committing to get counted in the US census, vote, join an advisory committee or neighborhood board, learn about important local issues and City policies or volunteer with a community organization.

Ryan Sadowy, of Clark Street Holdings, is appealing:

  • Denial of a variance to increase the maximum floor area ratio from 3.78 to 6.04.
  • Denial of a variance to reduce the minimum loading requirement from 3 small spaces to 1 small space.

KEEP YOUR SIDEWALKS CLEAR!

Minneapolis has a robust network of sidewalks and trails, and it is important to have clear and accessible sidewalks in our city year-round. If sidewalks are not cleared in the winter, it can be a problem for residents and visitors to walk to everyday destinations. It is also especially challenging for people with disabilities and mobility challenges to get around when sidewalks aren’t clear of snow and ice.
  • Minneapolis Ordinance 445.20 requires that property owners clear sidewalks after the end of a snowfall.
  • Single family homes and duplexes must have their snow cleared within 24 hours after a snowfall has ended.
  • All other properties must have their snow cleared within four daytime hours (daytime hours are defined as 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
