I hope you had a good rest and a chance to wind down over the Holidays. Best wishes for health, peace and happiness in 2015.

We moved into our new home between Christmas and New Year's, still in the process of unpacking and decorating. Everything will be done in the perfect timing, with patience. It's very exciting!!

I signed up a for a 3 DAY DETOX over this coming weekend. It's FREE video with all the instructions: menu, recipes, etc. You can still join and we can share our experiences next week.

The regular weekly schedule: 


Cameron Park, Scout Hall, Easton Street, Booval

  • Tuesdays, 6:00pm–7:30pm


Raceview Scout Hall, 32 Taylor Street, Eastern Heights

  • Tuesdays, 9:00am – 10:30am *) followed by meditation 10:30am-11am, if you wish to stay.
  • Wednesdays 9:00am – 10:00am Seniors Yoga class  *) followed by meditation 10am – 10:30am, if you wish to stay.
  • Thursdays, 5:00pm – 6:30pm
  • Thursdays, 7:00pm – 8:30pm



  • first trial class: free
  • drop-in class $14.00
  • 5-class pass (valid for 2 months) $60.00
  • 10-class pass (valid for 4 months) $100.00


Cost for Senior Class

  • first class: free
  • single class  $10.00
  • 10-class-pass  $80.00


Private Yoga Classes in Silkstone

Now that we live in a bigger house, I have my own dedicated Yoga/Meditation room. It's for my personal practice and also the space to offer private one-on-one yoga classes at my home. 

The prices for private one-on-one yoga classes are: 

$45 for a one hour class/one person, during the week 9am - 7pm, commencing time of the class.

$60 for a one hour class/one person, on the weekend Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday.

If a second person joins the class, the price is $20 extra.

These are the prices for classes at my house in Silkstone. If you prefer a private class in your own home this is of course possible. Booval/Silkstone area same price as above. For other suburbs in Ipswich there will be an additional charge of approx. $15 depending of the kilometers travelling. 

Satsang / Friday Hatha Yoga Class in 2015

In the past year there was often a small number (3-5) attending the monthly Friday class and Satsang/meditation/chanting. A number I could now easily accommodate at home, instead of feeling lost in the big Scout Hall.

So to help me decide the location for the next Friday class and the monthly Friday classes in general, could you please let me know if you are interested to attend the Satsang/mediation/mantra chanting this year. I do not expect you to join every month, but if you like to join a couple times per year, please let me know (email or in person) by the end of January 2015. THANK YOU !!

Yoga & Meditation Weekend Retreat 28th - 30th August 2015 (Friday - Sunday) 

Thank you for your feedback regarding a Retreat in 2015. I booked at Gunnebah Retreat near Murwillumbah, northern NSW.

The cost for the weekend is $420, everything included: accommodation, meals, the whole yoga program. From a Friday afternoon to Sunday lunchtime

Sarvangasana or the Shoulderstand
 is the second of the 12 basic postures of hatha yoga in the Sivananda class. Its main benefit is its massage on the thyroid gland. In this posture, most of the weight should rest on the shoulders but the neck muscles should be stretched properly.

Physical Benefits

  • Brings fresh blood to the throat and thyroid gland.
  • Locking of the chin massages the thyroid gland.
  • Extends the cervical section of the spine giving it a powerful stretch.
  • Rests the heart by using gravity to stimulate veinous return.
  • Relieves pressure from the veins in the lower body (varicose veins).
  • Encourages deep abdominal breathing. This is good to help beginners learn the abdominal breathing.
  • Good stimulation of the digestive system by pressure applied during the inhalation.
  • Opens up the shoulders.

Energetic (Pranic) Benefits

  • Stimulates the vishuddha chakra (throat psychic center).
  • Regular practice gives short and long term energy to the practitioner. Good "pick-me-up".

Mental Benefits

  • Reduces lethargy, mental sluggishness and laziness.
  • Appeases insomnia.
  • Fights depression.


It is recommended not to do the shoulderstand if you have high or low blood pressure, glaucoma or other eye disease, or any neck problems, consult your doctor or chiropractor before practicing.
