Hello and a good week to you all. Stay calm and do not let the upcoming end of school year, Christmas party's, end of year break-ups,.....  get to you.
Practice self-care while keeping up your yoga weekly yoga class. Getting away from it all might be better for your health and well-being, than trying to get it all done. Give your self the chance to detach and recharge. 

Please note our Christmas Break for the yoga classes will be from Monday 21/12/15 until 10/01/16. Last classes on Thursday 17/12/15.
In the New Year the clases will resume on Tuesday 12/01/16.


See you before the the end of the Year for some good yoga practice.

Satsang, Friday 20 November 2015

This week  Friday 20/11/15 we have  our last Friday  hatha yoga class, followed by Satsang (Meditation and Kirtan)  for this year. Don't miss it!!

 At the Raceview Scout Hall, 32 Taylor Street, Eastern Heights

5pm – 6:30pm  Hatha Yoga Class (breathing exercises, sun salutation, 12 basic postures, guided final relaxation)

The cost is $15 or regular class pass 

 

6:50pm – 8:30pm Satsang (silent meditation, uplifting Sanskrit chants, an inspiring reading)

The cost is $8 or free if you come to the 5pm class.


For everyone that comes to two yoga classes earlier this week, eg. Tuesday and Thursday, the Friday class and Meditation will be FREE.
 
In between the two sessions we have a cup of tea and something sweet.
If 5pm is too early for you, you can just come for the Satsang, please arrive for 6:30pm. Or only do the Hatha Yoga class.
If you know you will join one or both of the classes for sure, please let me know. Otherwise you can always just show up, no booking necessary.

The past three weeks my mother was visiting us from Switzerland. She also came along to my yoga classes and some of you had the chance to meet her. So I got inspired to take some photos of my mother practicing yoga exercises. She does yoga and daily similar exercises since fifty years, she is also a keen bush-walker.  A ageless Goddess!!

I love to grow my own pineapples. Being used to snow and ice, I do find it very exotic. It's also a very good practice of patience.

Child's Pose (Bhalasana)

 Child's pose is a relaxation pose.

Begin by sitting on the heels with the forehead resting on the floor. Place the hands, palms upwards, on either side of the feet/legs. Knees together.
If you do find this uncomfortable, keep your arms stretched out facing forwards. Or place your fists or arms on top of each other and rest your forehead on them, instead of on the floor. 
You might also need to adjust the distance between your knees and legs. Hip-width apart for example.
Or place a pillow between your heels and bottom. 

You really need to find which position in child's pose is the most comfortable for you!!
It is a relaxation pose. Allow the body to relax and sink down into this position. Back, neck and shoulders relax.
