Prema's Yoga News No. 22
Monday  03/07/2017

Dear All,
Namaste .....

I hope you are well, having time to enjoy the beautiful winter sun. Traditionally Winter is a time of hibernation and self reflection, going within physically and mentally. If you think it's too cold to go outside, sit in front of a candle and meditate.

Please check my Yoga Facebook page Hatha Yoga Ipswich for updates, gratitude posts (via Instagram @mariaprema), inspirational readings, as well as my blog-posts on my website. htttp://

Triangle Variation - Trikonasa

The triangle yoga posture offers many different variations. One of them is the revolved triangle or standing spinal twist in triangle.
  • Stand with your feet a little more than shoulder width apart. Raise the arms until they are held straight out from the shoulders.
  • Twisting from the hips place the right hand on the floor outside the left leg, or anywhere on the left leg (between the knee and the foot).
  • Align the body so that shoulders, chest and arms form one straight line.
  • Look up to the left hand.
  • Hold ! You will feel this is a balance as well as strengthening posture.
  • Repeat on the other side.
The Triangle ensures a thorough lateral stretch to all parts of the body, maintaining and improving flexibility of the spine.
