New campaign: The D**ktators  |  Debatt: Kan vi redde demokratiet?  |  Solidarity with Students and Academics in Iran
New campaign:

Authoritarian regimes are on the rise and oppress a vast number of people across the world. They all have one thing in common: they’re being total(itarian) d**ks against students.

Students are often the first to speak when unjust occurs. They are the first to protest. (In Norway they are also first in line to get gonorrhea. Let’s hit two birds with one stone!)

Help us get the word out: Students need protection!

In the coming weeks, we invite you to a number of events where we will look at the status of democracy internationally from various angles. Here is a small selection:

Kan vi redde demokratiet?

Trenden er tydelig: mens vi i mange tiår så en fremvekst av demokratier globalt, går det nå i motsatt retning. I dag lever 70 % av verdens befolkning - 5.4 mrd mennesker, i et autokrati. Vi spør: hvordan går autoritære krefter frem for å drepe demokratiet? Og finnes det krefter som kan stoppe dem?

Denne kvelden ser vi nærmere på Iran og Brasil. Velkommen!

The global “lawfare” to suppress civil society

Across the world we see governments passing new laws, giving the authorities sweeping powers to control civil society and curb vital human rights work. - What does this mean for international development cooperations, and our ability to support our partners in the Global South?

Welcome to a panel talk with Norad, CIVICUS and SAIH-partner, Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights.

Solidarity with students and academics in Iran

We condemn the brutal violence and attacks on the people of Iran, including students and academics, and call upon the Norwegian government to continue its efforts in condemning the violence in the country, both bilaterally and multilaterally.

Do you want to show solidarity with the students, academics and people of Iran? Join our social media campaign!
