22 Countries Signed the Youth Pact during the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government
During the XXV Ibero-American Summit held on October 28 and 29, the
Cartagena Declaration , the Cartagena Action Program  and the Ibero-American Youth Pact  were adopted. Among the highlighted points are the approval of more inclusion, more participation, more investment, and more youth rights as well as partnerships between universities, businesses and civil society that leads to an education that can contribute to youth employment.

OAS Member States to Discuss Youth Employment
The Inter-Sectoral Workshop on Youth Employment will take place December 15 & 16 in Brazil, and will convene the OAS Ministries of Labor and Education  to discuss strategies to improve youth employment. Participants who 
wish to receive funding should send registrations by November 18.

OAS Advances Towards the IX Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Education
Ministries of Education met at the OAS headquarters from October 26 to 28 to consider and review the documents to be approved during the IX Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Education to be held on February 9 and 10 of 2017 in The Bahamas. The result was the adoption of the Draft Inter-American Educational Agenda and Draft Declaration of Nassau.

Mexico Launches Campaign Against Child Labor with the Support of the OAS Pan American Development Foundation
The Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare in partnership with the Pan American Development Foundation of the OAS, and other public and private organizations launched the campaign "Everyone Against Child Labour" which seeks to sensitize Mexican society, especially empower youth and college students to be agents of change in their communities in order to help students eliminate child labor.
