Everything is ready for the Preparatory Meeting of the XXI IACML! 

The Preparatory Meeting of the XXI Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labor (IACML) will be held virtually on July 28, 29 and 30 with the objective of negotiating the draft Declaration and Plan of Action of Buenos Aires, to be adopted at the Ministerial which will take place from September 22 to 24. Through the Virtual Forum opened by the Technical Secretariat, 19 Ministries of Labor of the region, as well as workers and employers, submitted

comments on the first version of these documents, which reflects the great commitment of the region to this process and its relevance to the search for consensus in the context of recovery. Based on these comments, the Delegation of Argentina, with the support of the Technical Secretariat, prepared a second version of the draft Declaration and Plan of Action, which will be the basis for negotiation during the Preparatory Meeting.

RIAL Bilateral Cooperation Activities begin

The first virtual bilateral cooperation exchanges within the framework of the 14th RIAL Call began last week. The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare of Chile shared its experience in the field of Union Training Schools with the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion of Peru, while the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development of Panama (MITRADEL) provided advice to Guatemala on the eradication of child labor in the sugar cane sector. The latter is carried out in collaboration with the ILO, within the framework of the Latin America and the Caribbean Free of Child Labor Initiative.

Course on Regional Qualifications Framework taught by ILO-CINTERFOR in partnership with OAS and UNESCO launched  

The first session of the course "Advancing towards a Regional Qualifications Framework", taught by ILO-Cinterfor in partnership with the OAS and UNESCO, was held on July 12 with a broad audience. The course seeks to promote the development of capacities in national teams on the concept and viability of an RQF and bring them closer to the concepts, ordering logic, classification, and guiding principles, to achieve an eventual formulation of an RQF at the level of the Americas. It has 90 participants from the Ministries of Labor, Education, and Vocational Training Institutes from 16 countries.
