Dear <<First Name>>
As you have probably seen by now, protest actions took place in South Africa under the guise that old President Zuma was locked up in an unfair manner.
This basically immediately escalated into looting, theft and plundering of various Shopping Malls and shops mainly in the provinces of Gauteng and KZN during Sunday and Monday.
The situation was bad and unfortunate, with huge financial losses to the affected parties – which obviously deeply upset all the other law abiding citizens of this beautiful country of ours.
It was however very localized and happened only in certain towns and suburbs approx 200 miles from us , but unfortunately the media made it look like a country wide anarchy.
Our town Pongola had not been affected as SAPS (South African Police Service), CPF (Community Police Forum) and SANDF (South African National Defence Force) were working closely together to monitor the situation and prevent any looting under the guise as “protesting actions”.
Basically we did this by blocking off access roads and by keeping all traffic and people out of town.
All is calm and normal now, and we are all fine. The situation will be continuously monitored, and all preventative measures will be implemented should there be any indication of unrest developing.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
Africa, like always, remains an interesting place to live in!
Take care and be safe!
Warm Regards,
Harloo Team
