Two great opportunities for artists from Talawa Theatre Company

Studio Firsts - Whether you are a director, deviser, sound engineer or multi-disciplinary artist, if you have a new idea to test or explore, Talawa wants to hear from you. Studio Firsts creates a space in which emerging artists (18+) can experiment and take risks with free studio space and support from Talawa. Apply.

Creating Routes - Creating Routes is a free practical training programme for theatre-makers who want to use their creative skills in the community.   The course runs from September 2015 to June 2016.   Apply.

Future Stage 2016

A unique, and free, opportunity from Generation Arts for committed aspiring actors and theatre-makers to form a company for 9 months, and train with excellent directors, actors and theatre-makers.

If you are looking for the next step to get into drama school, university or employment in the creative industries, this is the chance for you.

Previous participants have gained places on Acting degrees at Central, Drama Centre, Guildhall, Arts Ed, ALRA, Rose Bruford and East 15 drama schools, and theatre courses at London Met, Winchester, Middlesex, Goldsmiths and Roehampton universities among others.


Black History Walks runs guided tours of London from a Black perspective. Black history movies, rare documentaries, walks and talks are also hosted once a month in the London area.  

They have lots of events to choose from - you'll be sure to find some of them interesting.

Mɛlənɪn Box Festival – December 2015 is a three day showcase of novel works by up-and-coming black British theatre and film makers.

Submissions are now open for the 4th TriForce Short Film Festival which will be held at BAFTA on 5th December 2015.   Get details and submit your film.

Ovalhouse is looking to appoint a PASTORAL CARE AND MONITORING OFFICER to  support the pastoral and personal needs of the young people who attend Ovalhouse, or would like to attend Ovalhouse activities to enable them to take part in arts activities in confidence comfort and safety. The Roundhouse's Wax Lyrical are recruiting.
The Roundhouse is running a FREE 6 week project giving you the chance to find your voice, tell your story and work with words. Collaborate with a professional team of directors, performers, musicians, and filmmakers to create a multimedia group performance for a Roundhouse stage.

The Bush Theatre is recruiting for a Theatre Administration Intern. They are looking for somebody who is passionate about theatre and who has been searching for an opportunity to begin their career in arts administration. This is a great opportunity to work in a busy theatre and learn by working alongside experienced practitioners working in the industry.
