Automotive Suspension Components Present Opportunity for Al Forgings

In this article, Andrew Halonen provides an overview of a study conducted by his company Mayflower Consulting that examines the form and function of suspension components and their value to the light metal industry. The study also looked at the impact of suspension materials as OEMs shift their vehicle powertrains from the internal combustion engine to a mix of electrified products. By exploring this area of the vehicle and providing new information, the study aims to create meaningful business opportunities for aluminum.

U.S. Launches Aluminum Import Monitoring

The U.S. Department of Commerce launched a new Aluminum Import Monitoring and Analysis (AIM) system, which will enable the collection of data on aluminum imports. This will serve as an early warning mechanism to help spot trends and shifts in trade flows that might warrant industry or government action.
LME Commits to Sustainability Strategy for Al

The London Metal Exchange (LME) plans to move forward with its sustainability strategy, which hinges on providing metal market participants with the option for greater transparency and access in respect to sustainably produced metal. 
Aluminum Least Impactful on Environment

A life-cycle assessment of drink containers, conducted at the University of Southampton in the U.K., found that aluminum packaging causes the least environmental impact (in the pressurized beverage category) when compared with other materials.
