New five-year partnership announced
Livestock SA this week announced it will partner with the University of Adelaide to develop and implement the South Australian Sheep Industry Blueprint. The five-year agreement, supported by SA producers through the Sheep Industry Fund, will start with the sheep industry plan before progressing to cattle.
The agreement includes the Livestock SA-University of Adelaide jointly-funded appointment to the university of a blueprint manager to drive the development of the industry.

Pictured announcing the new partnership at the Royal Adelaide Show last week were SA Sheep Advisory Group chair Leonie Mills, Livestock SA president Geoff Power, Minister for Agriculture Leon Bignell, SA Sheep Industry Blueprint chair Allan Piggott and University of Adelaide JS Davies Research chair John Williams.
Introducing the blueprint's new manager
University of Adelaide’s Dr Stephen Lee (pictured right) was recently appointed to the role of SA Sheep Industry Blueprint manager.

Stephen will be coordinating the next phase of the blueprint’s development, with the working group, including the state-wide consultation with producers and industry stakeholders.

The role, based at Roseworthy campus, is supported by funding from the State Government and the university’s JS Davies bequest.
Blueprint chairman Allan Piggott says Stephen has extensive experience in applied research, technical extension and private sector work in product development and commercialisation.
“We are certain his skills will be an asset as the blueprint is developed and implemented.”
