We would like to sincerely thank you - our clients and friends for your valued support during the last twelve months. It has been another successful year for us as we have nearly doubled our project load and expanded our team with the arrival of Marko Draganic as our Geospatial Data Coordinator. We have also focused our attention on refining our levels of service to you.
Highlights of this year include several partnerships and collaborations with industry, including Jan De Nul, Rio Tinto, Mid West Ports and Flinders Ports. We have sustained our partnership with the Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA) and provided complete hydrographic survey services to the Port of Ashburton, Port of Dampier and Port of Port Hedland. We have assisted the PPA by providing hydrographic surveying, tidal studies and quality control services. These services have led to a better understanding of each port in relation to available depths and tide observations, ultimately leading to greater port capacity, whilst improving safety for visiting draft restricted vessels.
We have updated our Quality Management System (QMS) and following an extensive multi-day auditing process, we were awarded ISO 9001 standard certification. Our QMS system is a collection of business processes including policies, procedures and resources needed to implement quality management. This is integral to our commitment toward fulfilling our client’s requirements and continuous improvements to our service delivery. We are currently working on upgrading to the recently updated ISO 9001:2015 standard.
Furthermore, we have continued to support the Australian hydrographic surveying industry by sponsoring several Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI) events, including hydrography seminars in Newcastle, Hobart and Adelaide, and the South Australian World Hydrography Day event at the Beachouse, Glenelg. PHS staff have attended industry speaking opportunities at TafeSA and University of Tasmania, and provided ‘day in the life of’ accounts as an insight into a career in hydrographic surveying. Our aim is to encourage surveying students to follow a hydrographic surveying career path and how they might go about achieving this.
Commercially, we aim to finish the year strongly and look forward to a successful 2017 as we work with you, our valued partners. Our aim has always been for our clients to have a greater understanding of the marine environment they operate in, to ensure safer navigation, strategic decision making and maximised productivity.
We take pride in our work and are committed to quality, customer service and excellence. As we look back on the past year, we would like to acknowledge those who have helped us shape our business. Thanks for a great year and we wish you all the best as you embark on 2017.
Our Adelaide office will be closed from Friday 23rd December and reopen Tuesday 3rd January 2017. Our Pilbara office will be operating as 'business as usual' over the entire Christmas period.
Wishing you a happy and festive holiday season,
From the team at PHS!
In lieu of mailing Christmas cards we have opted to make a donation to the MS Society.
