One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

by EuGene Lewis, Washington Conference regional ministries director

Growing up as a kid, I enjoyed reading the classics written by Dr. Seuss. One of my favorites (besides The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs & Ham): One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.

At first glance, one might find the book silly, punctuated with a lot of enchanting nursery rhymes and not much else.

But there is more to those lyrics than that which reaches the eyes. The plot of the story doesn’t travel in a straight line like most children’s stories do. Instead it meanders from here to there, from one to two, to red and blue.

The book One Fish, Two Fish is a celebration of those things that are the same but different.

So why does this matter? Keep reading!

You'll find a drop-down menu of ministry pages; ways to be "Totally Involved" as a pastor, educator, member, or volunteer; expanded information on giving options (including how your tithe dollar is spent); and ways to connect with upcoming events, local churches, local schools, Pathfinder clubs, community service centers and more.

"Is This Thing On?" Church Chat

Our ministry team is anticipating the next installment of "Is This Thing On?" with North American Division leaders Dan Jackson and G. Alexander Bryant. The church chat between young adults and church leaders will be held on December 2 from the campus of Oakwood University and broadcasted on Facebook Live.

Join the 90-minute conversation! Post or tweet your questions using #NADNOW and enjoy watching the live broadcast!

New Offering Option!

The Conference Ministries offering as we currently know it (for Education, Evangelism, and Sunset Lake) is changing. Local church representatives affirmed a decision in 2017 to transition this offering to become the new Washington Youth offering to specifically fund efforts to grow young Adventists.

Your last opportunity to contribute to Conference Ministries offering will be in December. Starting in January, our new tithe envelope will feature Washington Youth.

Thank you for helping to instill Hope & Wholeness in the next generation!
