God's Miracle Grow

By Craig Carr, Washington Conference vice president

Have you ever wondered how we can be farmers for God in today's world?

While spending time with Jesus one morning, I was struck by the thought of our role in sharing the gospel with those around us and the role of God’s Spirit.

As in the Parable of the Sower, Jesus likens the new birth experience to tiny seeds planted in the ground.
And (Jesus) said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.” - Mark 4:26-29, NKJV

Teen Devotional Has Local Connection

Natalie Dorland, former Puyallup associate pastor and current seminary student at Andrews University, has fulfilled a lifelong dream to write a book!

Here I Am is a daily devotional for teens, helping them recognize their potential for greatness with God.

With God, there is no age discrimination. As with Samuel, God often calls youth to do big things for Him. In fact, throughout the Bible, and throughout history, God has chosen young people to be His torchbearers, forging a path for truth to flourish.

WISE Builds International Connections!

The Washington International Student Experience (WISE) is an innovative program that has continued to grow over the years. In western Washington alone, there are 5 partner schools that have 11 sister schools in Korea and China!
"I was in 4th grade when I started attending Buena Vista and living with my host family. I gained two brothers and a sister. I love my host family," says Kevin Jung, a WISE student. "This summer, I had an opportunity to share my culture with my classmate who visited Korea. My friend was able to visit with my family and we had a great time sightseeing. I have many memories with my friends and my host family."

The sharing of cultures and the family relationships that WISE students experience with their host families are invaluable moments that enrich Adventist Education.
