This Week's Promise to Share

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.

Psalm 34:17-20, NIV

Women's & Teens' Fall Retreat Canceled

We hear you! September 28-30 is not a good weekend for you to attend Women’s Fall Retreat. Unfortunately, our enrollment did not meet the needed minimum registration and we must cancel Women’s Fall Retreat.

We are respecting your wishes and preferences as we think ahead to next year and I will be prayerfully considering the right date and venue for a wonderful event next year. Your support for Women’s Ministries is greatly appreciated and we look forward to seeing you at Women’s Spring Day in April and our fall retreat next year.

Remembering Heroes & Families of 9/11

"Today we remember the heroes who died and those who lived to tell their stories," said Julie Westfall, police chaplain, during a local fire department 9/11 memorial service in Federal Way today.

The memorial program included a speech by retired FDNY firefighter Jeffery Cool who said in part: "We must continue to tell the stories of 9/11; otherwise, it is just history."

South King Fire & Rescue chief Allen Church concluded: "It was their duty to serve; our duty is to remember and honor."

Washington Conference staff join in remembering, honoring, and praying for our first responders, past and present, and their families.
