to get "Out & About" in ministry

April 2, 2019

This Week's Promise to Share

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.”

Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One."

A Day of Prayer and Pause for His Presence

On Sabbath, April 27, we encourage our Washington Conference churches to observe a moment of silent petition at the morning prayer time on behalf of the 60th Constituency Session convening the following Sunday, April 28, on the campus of Auburn Adventist Academy. We ask that you take this time of agreement in prayer to ask for the Father’s presence, power, and provision for our delegates and leaders at this important meeting.

Where Jesus Walked

Walking and walking, pressed by crowds of people on all sides. It is a grand journey; it is an exhausting expedition. I long for time to sit and absorb; but the time is short. I want to take advantage of every opportunity. Jesus walked here; He prayed, He ministered, He died. Most important is that He rose again. My God lives, and is coming back for us soon. Hallelujah!

  1. We prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane
  2. We walked the Via Dolorosa
  3. We went to see tombs
  4. We saw the place where Jesus was put in the tomb.
The Garden of Gethsemane is a hill with green grasses and wildflower, crimson red poppies and tiny white daises, uneven pathways and rocks strewn about with olive trees sprinkled moderately over the hillside. Fifty people were scattered over the knolls finding a spot for a few moments with God. Ten precious minutes where activity stopped and in the spot where Jesus prayed on his own before his arrest and crucifixion. Our upcoming challenges may or may not be known, but we fortify ourselves with these moments of prayer.
