The Power of Prayer

By Tyler Long, Washington Conference evangelism coordinator

God reaches people through other people; That is His designed plan and He uses different kinds of people to bring souls into the kingdom. As you read this, there are people being prepared by the Holy Spirit in the very neighborhood that you live in.
It is not by accident that you live on your street. God wants to use your character, individual personality and influence to reach your neighbors. He wants and needs to work through you to bring these precious souls into His kingdom!
Every person has a distinct personality and traits that God can use in a special and mighty way. He will personally bring you into contact with these people, but you must pray for it to happen! Your contact with them may be the best chance they will ever have of hearing these life-changing truths about the mission of Christ to change their life for eternity!

John Neumann, Former AAA Choral Director, Passes to his Rest

This past evening, at the age of 73, John W. Neumann fell asleep in Christ’s arms.

John, or Mr. Neumann as many of you knew him, was diagnosed June 10, 2019 with stage four pancreatic cancer. The cancer had spread so quickly the doctors said there was no treatment that could help. That was only 16 days ago.

We were holding his hands and praying over him when he took his final breath. He was in no pain. Christ’s promise to us: “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." -- John 14:18

We would like to thank all of you who called, wrote emails, sent cards, visited, or offered to visit. We will continue to need those prayers during this time.

A private family service will be held in honor of John.

Be encouraged though! We have this hope! “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thes. 4:16-18 KJV

We’ll meet you in the air!

Passing Down Traditions

This week, Samoans from across the North American Division have gathered for NAD Samoan Camp Meeting on the campus Auburn Adventist Academy! During an activity period to celebrate their diverse culture, older generations passed down traditions to the younger generations by showing them how to peel taro and bananas and to husk coconuts to produce coconut milk.
