What To Do When the Boogieman of Fear Visits

#GrowingLeaders Vlog from Doug Bing

Did you grow up scared of the boogieman? I sure did! Fear can be something that it affects our daily life. Sometimes that fear keeps growing. Jesus gives us a victorious solution! As we focus on Him, the fears diminish. Take some time to think about Jesus and His love for you.

Thank you for your prayers and advocacy to help keep local school reopening a local decision.

Adventist schools will continue to work with local health authorities to review plans in preparation for phased in-person, hybrid or remote learning for the 2020-2021 school year.

Each Adventist school has Safe Start plan that includes an enrollment capacity. Many of our schools are reporting that their classes are full or nearly full with waiting lists beginning. Our traditionally small class size is still an advantage!

Your continued prayers and support for Adventist Education are greatly appreciated.

Beginning to Assess the Beirut Blast Tragedy

From Pastor Rick McEdward: Many are inquiring about our team here in Beirut after the major explosion rocked this city. Our MENA team is safe and the office has only minor damage. Our two schools and two churches were damaged. Middle East University has also reported some damage. We praise God for His grace of protection during this time. We will need to do damage assessment of our schools and churches tomorrow (Wednesday) and in the coming days. Thank you for your prayers!

Church is a Verb :: Community Food Relief

Auburn City pastors Ofa Langi and Tommy Tamalea’a started promoting their first food sharing date by faith. Each Tuesday God still supplies what they need to share with 2,000 families in two months’ time. Auburn City is also a free COVID-19 host site for 1,105 patients and counting!

At 13+ food relief sites in western Washington, Adventist volunteers are meeting neighbors’ needs. Washington ACS has a photo gallery report for you to view on Facebook to see images, read stories, and discover the recipients of a $25,000 food relief grant for ministry here in western Washington.

Sunset Lake Summer Adventures Continue

Friday Night Campfire Program

Need to get away at the end of a long week? Bring your family to Sunset Lake Camp this Friday evening, August 7, at 7 pm, for an evening worship service with our camp staff. Enjoy music, skits and a short message at Cedar Island, then stay and watch the sunset light up the lake. There’s no better way to welcome in the Sabbath.

Online Campfire Program

Can’t make it to camp? Join us for our online campfire program, premiering on Sunset Lake Camp's YouTube channel on Friday evening at 7:30 pm. This week we will discover how God can help us experience victory if we place our abilities in His hands.

Sabbath at the Lake

We’ve missed spending the summer with our campers. But why not spend the day with us! This Sabbath afternoon from 4 to 6:30 pm the camp will be open for families to enjoy. We will have self-guided hikes, canoeing and swimming until 6:00 pm, followed by an outdoor worship service led by our staff.

Please RSVP to Sunset Lake by phone (360-829-0311) or email by Friday to reserve a firepit. Space is limited. Donations appreciated. You will be required to limit your interactions with your immediate family only. If you are sick, stay home. And don’t forget to bring and wear your mask!

Praying Together to Bring Back the Glory

In a partnership forged from adversity, the Prayer Ministries teams from Northern California and Western Washington are planning a virtual prayer  retreat for August 28-29. Covid closed Northern California's annual prayer retreat camp but opened a door to Renton Church's live stream.

"This collaboration with a sister conference widens the reach of prayer ministries to potentially impact thousands instead of hundreds," says Randy Maxwell, Washington Conference prayer ministries coordinator, Renton pastor, and virtual prayer retreat speaker. "What the enemy meant for harm God has turned into good."

"Which churches are reopened?"

Washington Conference now has TWO answers for you!
1) Browse a list of churches to see who has indoor, outdoor, or virtual worship services.

2) Check weekly plans with your local or neighboring churches. Service plans are typically shared on the church's website, Facebook, or e-newsletter by Thursday or Friday each week.
