The Narrative Version:
It has been a little over a year since I launched my first Indiegogo campaign. I traveled back and forth from Boston to Nashville in between teaching to record. Now, Love Lead, my first release in eight years, is here!  My Indiegogo supporters are the first people to hear it.  The album should "go live" on all digital outlets and CD Baby by mid to late November.  (Come to the show on Nov. 12th and you can grab your own copy!) Thank you SO much to those of you who have already shared pictures of your signed copies on your social media pages. Every time you share my album, it’s like an angel gets its wings. Seriously, with each share, someone new has “liked” my artist FB page or followed me on Instagram or Twitter.  Please don’t underestimate the power of  your shares and word of mouth recommendation to an independent artist – thank you!! (And thank you to the Vineyard's, David Welch, for his amazing photography!)

I plan to launch a  radio and press promotion for 2017 that I hope you will be a part of sharing and spreading excitement about. But first, I am celebrating locally with a special pre-Release Show!  I am honored to be included as one of only eight yearly shows in the incredible On Stage Series at the Chevalier Theater in Medford.  This is not a venue you want to miss!  Tables are set up bistro style on stage with the performers at this beautiful, historic theater with incredible vibe and sound.  Snack boxes from local restaurants, wine, beer and other beverages are sold. Parking is plentiful. This is a double CD-Release party with the unabashed, social justice musical dynamo, Pamela Means starting solo at 8pm. Art in its highest form is not just entertainment but provocative and thought-provoking - a call to action- at its best.  Boy, do we need artists like Pamela in these times.  I will follow with songs from Love Lead. This album expresses more of the inner journey to freedom and the alchemy of love. I am so excited to be joined by Billy Kane on Bass, Chris Georgeness on drums, and Anthony C. Grant on keys!  Special guests include Raleigh Green on some guitar cameos, Jodi Heights (who sings on the album) on beautiful background vocals, and the soulful back up singer duo of Lydia Harrell and Kit Holliday (AKA "The Lady Parts").  It is going to be a blast!!!!  I've been posting rehearsal videos on the FB event, Instagram, and Facebook Fan Page.
I am THRILLED to finally announce that my NEW, UPDATED WEBSITE (same address, is LIVE, thanks to the incredibly diligent and detail oriented work of Steve Sibel. Have fun exploring Steve's handiwork as you scroll on your phones, tablets, or computers!  There are lots of cute and fun surprises. I am thrilled with it and hope you like it! We will add more content as it comes in.

I must also express my gratitude to all the musicians on this album, many of whom played with me on Deeper Waters and Girl in the Band. This album reflects the struggles and triumphs I and friends have experienced over the past eight years. There were times during those years where I fell into doubt, shame, and the inability to see a sense of possibility of music-making again in a big way. I remember being so moved during that interem period to hear the immensely talented guitarist, Michael Severs, (Dolly Parton and many others) remember our Deeper Waters session by noting, "that was not just another day at the office, that was a really special session." And of this new album Mike texted, "I am so proud to be part of this record!"  All of the musicians brought so much of their own hearts to this music with a poignancy I cannot express in words.  You just have to listen.

Finally, I feel a little like Dorothy at the end of The Wizard of Oz. For years I have been telling people over and over again, "I want to get back to Nashville and record again!" My unbelievably talented, faithful engineer and co-producer, Doug Wayne stayed in touch throughout the years and kept the faith that it would happen. "Laura, you are a world class singer, and people have to hear you!" Like Dorothy who says to her family, "All I kept saying to everyone was, 'I want to go home!' and they sent me home!" YOU, with your faith, loyalty in continuing to read these letters and send encouragement and come to shows, as well as all my generous Indiegogo contributors, have been the people to send me "home" to music-making. I am excited to have you join me for this new beginning.  Thanks for letting Love Lead.
