Dear Friends,

We have been busy at YSRP, and wanted to share a quick update about our programs that have kicked off over the past few months, and our core work that has continued to evolve.

The need for YSRP's work has never been greater. Of the 300 "juvenile lifers" sentenced in Philadelphia who now have the right to be resentenced according to the U.S. Supreme Court, only 2 have received new sentences thus far. YSRP is actively engaged in the resentencing, parole and/or reentry processes for 27 juvenile lifers, and there are so many more individuals who have sought out our assistance, that we have had to turn away because of limits on our capacity.

Now, more than ever, we need your support. Please consider making a donation through our website here, or by sending a check to:

Although we do not have photos to represent them, perhaps the most important trainings we have done in the last few months have been on the inside, with "juvenile lifers" at 6 state prisons. We have conducted workshops with ~150 of the state's 500 juvenile lifers on both mitigation and reentry planning.

YSRP was also honored to participate in the first ever "Juvenile Lifer Family Reunification Day" at SCI Chester last week.
