Cast Your Nominations for PCO Annual Awards
Nominations Due June 10th

It's time to start thinking about the PCO Annual Meeting Awards. This year, we'll be honoring our award winners at the PCO Annual Meeting/Farmer Appreciation Day at FarmFest on July 29th at the Grange Fairgrounds in Centre Hall, PA. 
We need your help! See Award List and Descriptions below and email your nominations directly to by June 10th!
When submitting your nominations, please list the producer/processor you are nominating, what award you are nominating them for, and a brief description as to why you think they are deserving of this award.

Outstanding New Organic Producer/Processor- This award is designed to commend a newly certified member who shows dedication to Organic Farming, was attentive and gracious during the certification process, and who shows promise as a dedicated and involved member.
Sustainability- Presented to a farmer or organization that makes a substantial effort towards furthering the sustainability of farms, families, communities, and the environment.  This may include efforts to further local foods movements, improve environmental sustainability or develop community outreach initiatives.
Going the Extra Acre -This award is designed to commend a farmer who gives his or her knowledge and expertise to help fellow farmers and the organic community.  Great systems are built on collaboration, and these producers are cornerstones of the organic community.
Organic Research & Education- Given to an outstanding organic educator or activist, this award gives voice to the contributions of researchers and community members who further the cause of organic farming.
Outstanding Organic Producer/Processor- Awarded to a farmer or group who is exceptionally committed to high quality organic production with a special focus on promoting organic products and supporting the integrity of organic goods in the market.

Join us for PCO's Transition to Organic Grain Study Circle & Farm Tour!
June 23rd, 9am-3pm * Lancaster County * Lapp Brothers Farm, LLC in Kinzers, PA
PCO will host a Transition to Organic Grain Study Circle and Farm Tour, on June 23rd at the Lapp Brothers Farm, LLC.  The study circle format allows transitioning and seasoned organic growers to discuss and exchange knowledge of organic field crop production.  Bring your questions to ask the group, and experiences to share.
The Lapp Brothers Farm, LLC is well-positioned to host this event, because it includes certified organic, transitioning and conventional ground.  During the farm tour, see the creative ways Mr. Lapp has overcome the challenges of transitioning to organic.

The Lapp Brothers Farm, LLC is located at: 25 Pequea Valley Road, Kinzers, PA.
