Charlottesville Precept Upon Precept Bible Study

Who we are:   Men and women who seek to accurately handle the Word of God through in-depth study and meaningful discussion. During the 2014-15 season we represented 25 different churches within the Central Virginia area.
What we believe:  We believe in the plenary verbal inspiration of the Word of God. We believe that both Old and New Testaments are inerrant in the original writings and are the supreme and final authority for faith and life.

What happens at Precept on Wednesday mornings?

9:15-10:15. We meet in small groups and discuss insights from our personal study the previous week (Each course has a workbook which directs our study and teaches us HOW to study effectively. The James course was written especially for our local group by Sheila Richardson.)
10:30-11:30. All small groups combine to hear a message (either live or by DVD) which builds upon the passage we have studied during the week and discussed in our small group. In the upcoming James course we will feature live lectures by Krisan Marotta.
"Precept" has become a regular part of life for many, as they discover that whenever God's people come together for an in-depth study of His Word, wonderful things happen ---
meaningful worship, fellowship, prayer, mutual encouragement, and sharing of lives and hearts.

Winter-Spring Study 2015: Epistle of James

This beloved letter written by Jesus' brother has often  been called "The Gospel in Shoe Leather, " because it fleshes out  what it really looks like to have authentic, living faith.

Going through some trials?  Ever struggle with temptation (and lose)?  Need help in relationships and use of your tongue? Need wisdom to walk the walk? Have faith that really "works"?  Know what it means to be a "doer" of  the Word of God? Struggle with riches (or lack of...)? Wonder about your prayers? The subject matter of this course will touch every day of your lives in an intensely practical way.

This inductive Bible study course (12 lessons) was written by Sheila Richardson. Messages will be given by Krisan Marotta.
