Thank You for Your Support!
Our signature Gala was a huge success!

Our 9th Annual Pledge to Humanity Gala was an amazing evening filled with fun, food, laughter and giving! On behalf of the extended Pledge to Humanity family, we thank all of our attendees and supporters for their tremendous generosity.

Since our inception in 2009, we have raised over
$1 MILLION for Pledge to Humanity's local and global projects through our Gala, individual donations and youth fundraising. Together, we are making a difference!!

In 2016, our Youth Ambassadors volunteered thousands of hours in community service. According to Independent Sector, a coalition of nonprofits devoted to non-profit policy, the hourly value of volunteer service in California is $26.87/hour. Pledge to Humanity is incredibly proud of our Youth Ambassadors and their service impact on the state of California.

Our Youth Impact

At Pledge to Humanity, our guiding belief is pretty simple: We believe that every child has a natural instinct to share and when children are empowered to volunteer, they grow to become strong ambassadors in local and global humanitarian efforts and lifelong advocates for community service.
In 2009, Gaby hosted her first Pledge to Humanity club with 8 young members. Today, Pledge to Humanity is proud to have over 1,700 active Youth Ambassadors throughout the Diablo Valley who have formed giving clubs through their schools, groups of friends, leadership groups, student councils, and sports teams. Every day, we see ordinary children doing extraordinary things. Below are just a few examples of how our children are making a difference...
We have fed the hungry by making sandwiches at home or at school, as well as serving meals with organizations such as Loaves & Fishes of Contra Costa, Kids Against Hunger and Glide Memorial Church.
We have collected, sorted and donated hundreds of brand new toys, clothes, Halloween costumes, books and school supplies for children in need locally and globally.
We have visited senior homes to deliver homemade greeting cards, sing a song and sometimes just to say hello. No matter what we do, visiting senior citizens reminds us that a friendly smile has the power to brighten someone's day.
We have funded the construction of 27 one-room schoolhouses in Kenya, India, and Ecuador. Over 1,200 children attend these schools thanks to our donors and volunteers. Read more about our global initiatives here.
We have partnered with Tennis Community Cares, a non-profit that was started by an Alamo teen, to donate tennis equipment to kids who wouldn't otherwise have the equipment to play. This young teen won a Bay Area Jefferson Award from CBS for his work. Click here to read more about Tennis Community Cares.
We have travelled on PTH International Service Trips to India, Kenya, Ecuador, Haiti and Mexico. To date, over 120 local Youth Ambassadors have had the opportunity to join Pledge to Humanity on these global trips of a lifetime. In July 2017, we are thrilled to be traveling to Kenya!
Just the Beginning...

As we prepare to say goodbye to 2016,
we feel incredibly proud for all that we have accomplished together. And, with your continued support,
we are excited about the promise of tomorrow...

Please welcome Carolina Katz who joined Gaby at Pledge to Humanity in November 2016. Carolina will be leading our efforts in Development and Community Outreach. She brings over 20 years non-profit experience to the position.

Carolina first met Gaby over two years ago when her son, then in middle school, was volunteering through PTH at The Monument Crisis Center. Since then, Carolina has become a trusted advisor and PTH advocate. We are thrilled to welcome Carolina to the PTH family!

Last year, PTH Founder, Gaby Ghorbani, was selected by Diablo Magazine as a 2015 Thread of Hope Award Recipient, a prestigious recognition of exceptional volunteers who give their time to charitable causes in the East Bay. A panel of judges, representing businesses and philanthropic organizations, select the honorees based on each nominee’s length of service, hands-on involvement, and impact on the community.

This year, Gaby was honored that Diablo magazine asked her to help judge the nominations as a 2016 Thread of Hope Judge. READ MORE >

In October, we held an information session in Alamo for our PTH International Service Trip to Kenya scheduled for June 2017. We were booked to capacity within days. In total, 30 local PTH Youth Ambassadors and chaperones will be making the journey.

Kenya, here we come!
We are always thankful for all our local partners who support our mission throughout the year, including Alamo Smiles Dental Group who donated dental work to local underprivileged families and SkinSpirit who donated toys for the holidays for children in Livermore.

Food & fun for a great cause! In honor of their grand opening, Danville Brewing Company donated proceeds from their opening event to Pledge to Humanity. We are thankful for the support of this awesome new Danville eatery!

PTH leadership groups have some amazing events planned for 2017. They will continue to work with over 50 local organizations including The Special Olympics, White Pony Express, Glide Memorial, Habitat for Humanity, and many more! Also in 2017, we will focus our attention to growing local initiatives. Stay tuned!!

We want to extend a huge heartfelt THANK YOU
to all of our dedicated volunteers, donors and board members
for an absolutely amazing year!
At Pledge to Humanity, we appreciate that there are so many causes worthy of your time, effort and resources. We are humbled by your support, energized by our mission, and focused on impact.
Thank you for believing in the exponential power of youth volunteerism. By sharing of themselves, our children not only begin to understand the true meaning of giving, but they are also making an enormous difference in the lives of others.
